Victoria & Vancouver Brain Bees
Do you know a high school student who loves brain science? Encourage them to sign up for their local Brain Bee competition, a yearly event for students in Grades 9-12 that allows them to showcase their medical knowledge. Brain Bees test one's knowledge of the human brain, including topics such as intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing, sensations, addictions and brain research. The local competitions are in multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, and diagram format questions. Material comes from a book (Neuroscience: Science of the Brain) that is freely downloadable from the internet.
The winner of each Brain Bee will move on to compete in the National Brain Bee competition in Hamilton, Ontario, and the winner of the National competition is invited to compete in the International Brain Bee Championship!
