Andrew Cheng

Welcome! My name is Andrew Cheng () and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Linguistics at Simon Fraser University. Currently, I work with Dr. Henny Yeung and collaborate with Dr. Reiko Mazuka at RIKEN.

Beginning in August 2023, I will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral scholar and lecturer at the University of California, Irvine, where I worked with Dr. Judith Kroll and Dr. Gregory Scontras. I received my PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, advised by Dr. Keith Johnson, and did my undergraduate work at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

I've lived and worked in Philadelphia, France, South Korea, Taiwan, and Northern and Southern California, and I'm happy now to call Vancouver home. Vancouver is located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
