Professor, Crustal Seismology

My research interests are focussed on acquiring improved images of the subsurface using seismic reflection and refraction data, and increasing the quality of their interpretation in a variety of fields by integrating other geological and geophysical information. Much of my previous work has related to the tectonics and crustal structure of areas as diverse as the Archean craton of Ontario and Quebec, the presentday Cascadia convergent margin of western North America, and the oceanic crust in the Atlantic and Pacific. I have also employed these seismic methods at a smaller scale to image shallow crustal faults and the detailed subsurface structure of mining camps in Archean greenstone belts.
