To login to SFUWebmail, enter your SFU Computing ID in the "ID" field and your password in the "Password" field. Hit the "Go" or "Check Mail" button.
You can also choose whether to use the standard "graphical" version, the lower bandwidth "NC" version, or the "Expert" frames version. The lower bandwidth uses fewer images and has a wider screen. With today's fast modems, there isn't much difference in loading time between the standard and NC versions. They look quite different though, so choose whichever one you like the most.
The Expert version makes extensive use of Frames and javascript to more closely simulate a desktop e-mail application. It has a lot more features, but due to its Javascript dependency, probably won't work on all browsers. It has been tested extensively on IE 5.x and Netscape 4.7x on a PC.
When you login, SFUWebmail checks your main mailbox for new messages. For SFU users, that mailbox is located on the campus mailserver and is separate from the SFUWebmail server. To minimize login time, you should try to keep your INBOX as small as possible - the more messages you have in it, the more messages SFUWebmail must scan when you login.
