Welcome to my home page. Some information about me:

I was born and raised in the beautiful and historical city of Isfahan in Iran.

I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Isfahan University of Technology in Electrical and Computer Engineering and my Ph.D. from University of Waterloo in Communications Engineering. Since 2004, I have been a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the School of Engineering Science at SFU. Prior to that, I worked as a Senior Design Engineer at LSI Logic Inc, in Milpitas, California.

I have taught several courses in a wide range of subjects including electrical circuits, logic circuits, communications, signal processing, control systems, and coding. I have also taught some of the largest classes in ENSC. The list of the courses I am currently teaching or have previously taught can be found by clicking on the Teaching link given further down.

My technical research interest is in digital communications with focus on multimedia communications, cognitive radio networks, and unequal error protection. Although research is not one of my assigned duties as a teaching faculty, I have made time to conduct research in addition to fulfilling my teaching and service duties. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my colleagues, working with several wonderful graduate students, and publish in refereed journals and conferences.

My research interests also extend to the field of engineering pedagogy, for which I have received internal teaching and learning grants and have disseminated my scholarly work at local and national conferences and symposiums.
