My research has been focused on the general area of Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) and the required interface electronics. Different aspects of these research areas are explored, including microfabrication technologies, microsystem design and characterization, and analog circuit design. Ideally, I would like my students to have a certain degree of expertise in all of these fields.

Presently, the main line of research within my group is development of Integrated Multi-Transducer Systems (IMuTS) and their interface circuitry encompassing the following areas:

  • Microfabrication and micromachining technology
  • Design of mechanical micro-sensors
  • Design of resonant sensors and devices
  • Biomedical sensors
  • Interface and signal conditioning circuits for microsensors
  • Low power (nW to µW) interface circuits for IMuTS
