Discretion

Statement of Intent:

My idea for the theme is to have a cityscape with different symbols around the scene that involve surveillance such as cameras and lights. These will be directed at the main subjects. The scene will be dark and raining. However, in amongst it all there will be two people (the main subjects) in bed who would be in a tower of one of the buildings who are totally oblivious to all of these things watching them. There will most likely be perspective distortion with the people being slightly bigger in proportion to the scene around them. This will all be done with digital photography.

It is communicating that surveillance isn't always an obvious part of peoples' lives. A lot of the time public surveillance is hidden in order to reveal information about a situation. That same thing is happening in this piece but in a more innocent way. The people are just doing what they feel to show love to each other, but they are being watched. I am trying to communicate the idea that even thought there is surveillance around life still goes on whether we know we are being watched or not.
