Awesome Music Clips

The Beatles

She Loves You (Manchester, 1963). Screaming 14 year-old girls steal the show.
She Loves You (Melbourne, 1964). Love the sound of Harrison's guitar here. Notice that Ringo is MIA. Evidently, the drums are being played by Jimmy Nicol (although, I don't see him here), who filled in for Ringo while the latter was recuperating from a bout of tonsillitis.
I Wanna Hold Your Hand. I wanna hold your hand (sreeeam!!); I wanna hold your haaaaand (screeEEEAM!!!). Very funny, although I can see why John got sick of this after a while.
Help! A great song, but one of the dumbest Beatle videos ever (poor Ringo). Here is a better clip (no lip sync) and here.
Ticket to Ride.
I Feel Fine.
A Hard Day's Night. Better sound quality here.
Get Back. Their famous last concert in 1969 before breaking up.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Played against some good memories. The greatest band of all time.

The Seekers

Georgy Girl. Sweet voice; a great Australian band.
California Dreamin'. Wow, what a voice. I almost like this better than the original.

Petula Clark

Downtown. I remember listening to this on our (high-tech) transistor radio.

Nancy Sinatra

These Boots Are Made for Walking
. OMG, I do miss the 60's.

The Carpenters

On Top of the World.
We've Only Just Begun. What a voice; possibly the best ever.
Rainy Days and Mondays.
Close to You. An early clip with Karen on the drums.

AC/DC

Shoot to Thrill. The definition of power chords. Here is an awesome live version.
Highway to Hell. A classic, with Bon Scott leading the way (RIP).

The Who

Can't Explain. This is too cool. And here too; Keith is insane!
My Generation. A classic rock anthem performed on the Smothers Brothers. Keith Moon, best rock drummer ever. Love Townsend's windmill. And John Entwistle calmly ripping some superb base riffs. Here is another cool raw clip.
Baba O'Riley (Teenage Wasteland).

The Kinks

You Really Got Me. Hilarious early clip. Here is Van Halen's version.

The Troggs

Love is All Around. I didn't know they did this. Of course, they are best known for the next song.
Wild Thing.

Johnny Cash

Walk the Line. An early clip. See also Phoenix's version.
Ring of Fire. Written by June Carter. Phoenix does a great version here.

Husker Du

I Don't Want to Know if You Are Lonely. An f-n kick-ass band from Minneapolis. Speaking of Minneapolis, do you remember the Mary Tyler Moore Show (possibly the best sit-com of all time)? Here is the MTM theme song. And the next link takes you to Husker Du's version.
Love is All Around.

Vince Guaraldi

This guy was a friggin' genius (some background). He is best known for writing the theme music to Peanuts. Here is a good example of how "Linus and Lucy" should be played on the piano. Could you imagine playing this on the guitar? Check out Jeff Wahl. Most of us would have to be content with playing Dell Puckett's version.
Skating. Just beautiful.
O Tannenbaum. Lovely.

Neil Diamond

Cherry Cherry. 1967 version. 1972 version. And for proof that Neil is getting better with age, 2005 version.
It occurred to me that the Romantics "What I Like About You" is based on the same chord progression.
Sweet Caroline. My goodness, is it any wonder why Neil left so many women weak in the knees?
