The Hydrogeochemistry Group studies the geochemical and biogeochemical processes that impact the chemical composition of surface and groundwater. This research involves both lab and field based work as well as numerical modelling for investigating the controls on the chemical and isotopic composition of water, minerals and gases. By recognizing and using variations in the chemistry we are able to address problems in our environment, in characterizing and predicting the effects of climate change and in resource exploration and evaluation.
