Treasure

Modeling/Texturing

'Treasure' is a simplistic room model that was designed by Thomas Boutinaud. For this project, I mainly focused on spider web creation using MEL script and also lightings.

Similar to many other projects, I started off creating the texture tile using Substance Designer. It was quite challenging since I am still learning about blueprint programming and I had to follow many different tutorials to achieve the result. Afterward, I started browsing on how to simulate spider webs within Maya. I was able to create a tread simulation and render the curves out using Arnold. I also learned about Maya's attribute spreadsheet which is really handy when it comes to changing multiple curves. Lastly, lighting is definitely the focus when it comes to this piece, I wanted to create a feeling of abandoned location and also showing that the treasure is shining through from the other side of the door. I used around 6 different lights to achieve the result.

Overall the project was really fun as I was able to learn a lot of new tricks with Maya. The whole project took around 3 days to complete.
