Welcome to the Human Electrophysiology Laboratory at Simon Fraser University. The Director of the laboratory is John McDonald, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at SFU. The goal of our cognitive neuroscience research is to uncover the neural processes that underlie human attention, perception and action. In addition to measuring behavioural performance, we measure brain function using noninvasive electrophysiological techniques (EEG, ERP) and other neuroimaging techniques (MEG, fMRI). Our primary approach involves recording brain responses to environmental events while participants perform in perceptual experiments. Funding for our research is provided by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
