Marital Status: Married to Margaret Probert Fankboner, MSc, 1966-present.

Children: Dale, Morgan.

Education: K-12 (13 different schools), Graduated from Christian Brothers College High School, Memphis, Tennessee in 1956. California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, B.S. (Biology), 1964. University of the Pacific, Stockton, Califoronia, M.S. (Marine Science), 1970. University of Victoria, British Columbia, PhD (Invertebrate Biology), 1971. Stazione Zoologica, Napoli, Post Doctoral, 1972. Cambridge University, Post Doctoral, 1971-1972.

Military Service: U.S. Navy, 1956-1958 (Active Duty), 1958-1962 (Reserve).
