I am a fourth year Computer Science student at Simon Fraser University; my area of concentration is Information Systems. I have completed all my required courses for graduation, except for one humanities course that I am holding back in order to be eligible for co-op placement. Most of my academic projects, particularly the upper devision projects were implemented in C++, either individually, or in teams of up to 5 studens.
In the course of my academic career, and previous internships, I have been exposed to a wide variety of programming languages, tools, and software; for a complete list, you can refer to the corresponding section in the navigation menu.
During my two internship semesters at Absolute® Software as Software Quality Analyst, I had the opportunity to gain experience at one of the top Canadian software companies, where I worked with Agile software development methodologies, participated in daily Scrums, was assigned complete user stories, created and maintained test cases, implemented test automation by learning Absolute Software’s proprietary automation language, QAplayer, and Selenium IDE, used SQL on daily basis, worked in close relationship with the development team to add new features to the software, created the workflow for their new software and website registration/activation, and presented several demos of the state and progress of the project to stakeholders and company’s director.
In the course of my previous internship, and my past career in real estate development, I had ample opportunity to hone my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. In my academic career, I have completed several individual and team projects using Object Oriented programming languages, mainly C++, and several other languages such as SQL, HTML, CSS, PHP, jQuery, Haskell, and so on. I am also familiar with an extended array of operating systems, and LAMP servers, many of which I used extensively for testing purposes during my previous internship.
I am currently seeking co-op placement, preferably as a developer in C/C++, SQL, or web development (front-end and/or back-end), and believe that my personal traits as a very eager and fast learner, a great team player and quick to adapt individual could be an asset as an employee.
