Research Themes

As part of the Physical Volcanology Group, I study the processes controlling persistently active volcanoes and their associated hydrothermal/geothermal systems. My current research integrates the study of geophysical signatures with geochemical and remote sensing data to investigate precursory signals to volcanic activity and the mechanisms that trigger eruptions.

I use a variety of geophysical and geochemical techniques (gravity, differential GPS, gas flux, satellite remote sensing) to study volcanoes in the Americas, Europe, South East Asia and Hawaii.
