The
assignment for this course consists of completing three film journals.
Each journal will contain the following two items:

| See schedule for assignment due dates. | ||||
| Each journal must be written about a moving picture from each of the three categories: | ||||
|
1927-60
|
A
feature film drama released before 1960. This must be a synchronous sound
film made after 1927.
|
|||
|
1960+
|
A
feature film drama released after 1960.
|
|||
|
X-ENG
|
A
non-English language, feature length film from outside of North America
and Great Britain, Ireland, etc.
|
|||
| To complete the assignments for FPA 289 a student must hand in 3 moving picture journals in one of each of the aforementioned categories. |

|
All
journals should clearly identify your name, student number, which of the
categories the journal is focusing upon and an e-mail address where you
can be reached.

Example of a complete set of three journals: Category X-ENG (A non-English language, feature length film from outside of North America and Great Britain, Ireland, etc.) Selection is "Life on a String" (China) Category 1927-60 (A feature film drama released before 1960. This must be a synchronous sound film made after 1927.) Selection is "Double Indemnity" (USA, 1955). Composer is Miklos Rozsa, director is Billy Wilder. There is a great deal of research material available on both of these men and the film. Category 1960+ (A feature film drama released after 1960.) Selection is "Do the Right Thing" (USA 1989). |
