ROGER HAYTER
Professor, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby
Welcome to my home page. I am a professor in the Department of Geography at Simon
Fraser University where I have been for over 20 years. I received my BA from the
University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, MA from the University of Alberta and PhD from
the University of Washington. I subsequently taught at the Memorial University
of Newfoundland for three years before moving to SFU in 1976. My research and
teaching interests are in economic geography, especially industrial geography,
regional development and the BC forest economy. This home page, which is still
under construction, provides information on my recent text book, The Dynamics
of Industrial Location: The Factory, the Firm and the Production System (Wiley:
Chichester 1997), one of my undergraduate courses that is based on this book (Geography
323), and my research interests, including recent publications and research grants.
