migration to multi-host environment

Hi all,

Has anyone experimented with a migration from a single machine
zimbra setup to a multi-host environment?

We have been engineering a multi-host environment where
we split out the proxy, mta and ldap onto separate virtual
machines on one box, and have two separate boxes for the
message store. (Initially we'd like to load balance all
traffic to one box and have the mstore1 just handle logging.
The above seemed to be best design for anticipating growth
here.)

Given we had started a pilot and have a couple hundred users
on a Zimbra setup all on one box we are now trying to determine
the migration path to the new multi-host environment.
(We are also looking to upgrade from Zimbra 5.0.9 to 5.0.10.
And looking for best solution for minimizing downtime.)

Zimbra support is recommending the default step sheet but we
haven't been able to confirm if our migration of data and
configuration will actually work with this approach.

We had thought about following the Zimbra docs "Disaster
Recovery" steps but what concerned us was this may work
for data migration but does it capture all the Zimbra
configuration.

Anyone had any experience with this sort of a transition?
