Position: Full Time Statistical Genetic Data Analyst

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary:

Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute is one of Canada's leading
biomedical research institutes offering a stimulating research
environment, competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits.  The Data
Analyst will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigators
on a number of research projects in the field of genetic epidemiology
and statistical genetics, including analysis of genomewide association,
resequencing data and longitudinal data, as well as evaluation and
application of non-standard statistical methods. The position will
initially be for one year full time with the possibility of renewal.

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, Epidemiology or a related
discipline such as Quantitative Human Genetics is preferable.

Skills and experience in analysis of complex genetic data and management
of epidemiological studies are required.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills and Qualifications:

*	Solid knowledge of statistical theory and methods
*	Well-developed computing skills with proficiency in SAS or STATA
and R programming
*	Ability to implement complex statistical analyses in large
complex datasets
*	Experience in design and conduct of statistical simulation
studies for methods evaluation
*	Knowledge of human genetics is an asset.
*	Excellent organizational and communication skills
*	Ability to work with an interdisciplinary research team,
including epidemiologists, molecular geneticists, and laboratory staffs
and scientists

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position will involve various aspects of genetic epidemiology
studies, including

*	Statistical analysis of epidemiological data and
high-dimensional genomewide association data
*	Data management and analysis of resequencing and fine mapping
*	Design and conduct of statistical simulation studies
*	Contribution to preparation of project reports, publications,
scientific presentations, and funding applications
