Statistics Content Specialist – Technical Writer, req8562
Job Summary
Are you passionate about statistics? Do you like to teach others how to solve statistics problems? Have you written about statistical concepts and methodologies in journal papers or books? Come join a team at MathWorks focusing on creating online articles that explain statistical concepts and methods to practicing engineers and students. We are looking for individuals who want to find creative ways to use MathWorks statistics tools to solve challenging statistical problems.
***A relocation package and TN Visa assistance are available****
·       Write user-focused content that explains key statistical concepts and methodologies to our end users
·       Develop examples and tutorials to show how to use our software to solve statistics problems
·       Work with the statistics community to generate online content for practicing engineers
·       Augment our existing statistics resources with compelling new materials
·       Participate in the development of statistics products
·       Help MathWorks develop the next generation of online resources
·       Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Science, or related technical field
·       Masters or PhD a plus
·       Strong math background and/or knowledge of programming languages (R, C, C++, Java, Python, Perl, etc.)
·       Demonstrated ability to explain statistical concepts and methodologies in the classroom or in writing
·       Ability to develop and document simple, creative demonstrations of practical solutions to common statistics problems in various industries
·       Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work interdepartmentally within a matrix organization
·       Experience using MATLAB or other mathematical or statistical software
·       Previous experience writing for a technical audience
