The Department of Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2012, subject to budgetary approval.

To be considered, an applicant must possess a PhD in an area of the mathematical sciences, must have an active research program with strong potential for external funding, and must demonstrate superior ability and commitment to teaching. Applicants whose research lies in Financial Mathematics will be given priority, but applicants whose research includes Financial Mathematics in combination with another of the Department's areas of focus will also be considered.

The Mathematics Department is a dynamic part of the Faculty of Science, with leading researchers in many fields, including interdisciplinary areas. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Financial Mathematics, and an MSc program in Mathematics for Science and Finance. In addition, it hosts a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Mathematical Modelling and several other research groups. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, copies of recent publications, a statement of current and prospective research interests, a statement summarizing teaching experience and interests, and contact information (address, telephone, and email) for at least three referees, to Prof. D.
