Applications are invited for a post-doctoral opportunity in biostatistics, with specific emphasis on spatial statistics. The successful applicant will be involved in the development of statistical methodology and analysis of data sets with existing and new methods focused on administrative health data.
The work will be conducted in the biostatistical laboratory of Prof. Rhonda Rosychuk in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. The primary responsibilities are to: assist in the development of methodology to address research questions, conduct literature searches and reviews, develop computer code to implement new methodology, perform statistical analyses using existing and new methods on data sets, and aid in the preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
Qualified applicants should have: nearly completed PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics (or completed), excellent oral and written communication skills, and exceptional computing skills on Unix/Linux/Windows platforms with software packages such as R/Splus. Ability to program in C/C++ is an asset. Applicants are invited to contact Prof. Rosychuk for additional information.
The post-doctoral position has funding available for one year. Additional funding may be available through post-doctoral fellowship awards (e.g., Alberta Innovates-Health Solutionshttp://www.aihealthsolutions.ca/grants/training-and-early-career-development-programs/postgraduate-fellowship.php).
