Senior Statistician: £35k + depending on qualifications and experience
As part of our planned expansion Quantics is seeking an experienced statistician who wants to gain experience in a wide variety of statistical techniques as applied in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and health economic sectors. The ideal candidate will enjoy learning new methodologies, will be able to communicate results clearly to clients and will work well within a small team. We envisage additional expansion so opportunities for promotion are expected. Reporting directly to Dr Ann Yellowlees (Director) you will be responsible for providing statistical analysis on a wide range of projects - the scope of the work is varied and will be challenging. Projects can range from methodology development, optimising design of pre-clinical assays for new vaccines, network meta-analysis for indirect treatment comparisons using Bayesian techniques, classification trees to provide intuitive case mix adjustment for the National Hip Fracture audit, through to analysis of post-marketing surveillance data for an approved oncology medication. You will be responsible for communicating the results of your analyses to clients in oral or written format.
Our preferred candidate must have an MSc or PhD in Statistics and at least 4 years experience, preferably, but not necessarily, in life sciences. The candidate will be experienced with SAS and /or R. The candidate must enjoy being challenged, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must also be able to work accurately under pressure with excellent attention to detail. Quantics has formal QA and QC procedures under ISO9001 and GLP guidelines. The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to non-statisticians, both orally and in writing is also a requirement.
