Assistant Professor of Statistics
The Department of
Computer and Mathematical Sciences, University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC)
invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in Statistics, at the rank
of Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2014.
The University of
Toronto is an international leader in Statistics research and education. The Department of Computer and Mathematical
Sciences enjoys strong ties to other centres of research in Statistics,
Mathematics and Computer Science within the University. The successful applicant will be expected to
establish a strong, externally funded research program, to actively contribute to the enrichment of
undergraduate programs in the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences
at UTSC, and to participate actively in
the Graduate Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto.
Candidates in all areas
of Statistics are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in
Statistics or a closely related discipline by the date of appointment or
shortly thereafter. They must demonstrate excellence in research, the ability
to pursue innovative research at the highest level, and a commitment to
excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
