Competition No. -
Will remain open
The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the
University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position in the
area of Statistics. Appointment at a higher level may be possible under
exceptional circumstances. We offer an excellent research environment with a
normal teaching load of 2.5 courses per year.
The successful candidate will establish his/her own research

of Alberta is an asset. Such interdisciplinary areas may include Bioinformatics,
Biostatistics, Environmetrics, Engineering, Business, and
Statistical Machine Learning.
The University of Alberta has one of the leading joint
Mathematics/Statistics departments in Canada and has strong connections with
other scientific institutes, such as the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical
Sciences (PIMS), Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI), and the
Banff International Research Station (BIRS). For more information about the
Department, please visit our websites at www.mathstats.ualberta.ca and www.stat.ualberta.ca/stat_centre.
