TWO FACULTY POSITIONS IN ACTUARIAL SCIENCE
Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position and a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position, starting January (or July) 2015. An earned Ph.D. in Actuarial Science, Insurance, Risk Management or equivalent from a reputable university, with a strong commitment to excellence in research (in particular for Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level) and teaching, is required. For both appointments, the selected candidate should be a Fellow of the Institute/Society of Actuaries, UK, Australia, Canada or the USA, or be an Associate but working toward full fellowship. In addition, practical experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset.
THE ACTUARIAL SCIENCE PROGRAMME AT NBS
The Nanyang Business School (NBS) offers programmes leading to the B.Bus., M.Bus., MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. Actuarial Science is currently offered as a major within the undergraduate business curriculum. The programme is accredited by the Institute of Actuaries, UK. Each year, about 50 students are selected for this major, which is highly competitive, and attracts the best students of each cohort. The business school is accredited by both the AACSB International and the European EQUIS.
NTU is located in the south-western region of Singapore, in a beautiful lush green campus, just 25 km from the city center. The Banking and Finance division is one of the largest divisions in the Business School, with over 30 faculty members from more than 10 countries. We offer excellent support to top-quality researchers. We subscribe to a large number of research databases, including WRDS, and have an excellent research infrastructure. Real-time data are available through our Reuters and Bloomberg terminals. The school also provides funding for participations in premier international conferences.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. The compensation package includes an annual group bonus, individual performance bonus, and provident fund contributions or gratuity benefits. There are also significant opportunities for faculty to develop links with the local insurance and actuarial community through consulting and research endeavors.
