The Department of Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2016 with a potential to begin January 1, 2016, subject to budgetary approval. In exceptional cases, a candidate may be considered at the rank of Associate Professor.

To be considered, an applicant must possess a PhD in an area of the mathematical sciences, must have an active research program in statistics with strong potential for external funding, and must demonstrate superior ability and commitment to teaching.

The Mathematics Department is a dynamic part of the Faculty of Science, with leading researchers in many fields, including interdisciplinary areas. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Financial Mathematics, and an MSc program in Mathematics. In addition, it hosts a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Mathematical Modelling and several other research groups.
