The University of Victoria’s Centre on Aging would like to share a two year term position job opportunity with you: Data Analyst.
The data analyst will play a major role in analysis, interpretation and the production of scientific outputs and reports for the "IALSA" network and its national and international partners who are working in a Coordinated Analysis model of research. Integrative Analysis of Longitudinal Studies of Aging (IALSA) is a network promoting and supporting international collaboration for reproducible longitudinal research on lifespan determinants of change in cognitive and physical capabilities, health, personality, and well-being. IALSA was established in 2005 and includes around 100 studies interested in coordinating interdisciplinary, cross-national research that integrates understanding of within-person aging-related changes in cognitive and physical capabilities, health, personality, and well-being.
The focus of this position is to ensure that data and data analysis meet the needs and scientific goals of IALSA. The analyst will also participate actively in grant submissions and mentoring of students. The analyst will interpret and analyze data for a variety of settings including, but not limited to, peer reviewed publications, reports, presentations, and conferences. Other responsibilities include mentoring doctoral and master's students, supporting grant preparation and submission, participating as a junior team member in many aspects of the project, and attending team meetings.
An earned PhD (in Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Public Health Sciences, or a relevant related field) is required. Post-graduate education/training and experience in quantitative research methods and data analysis is essential.
A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, including
  *   Demonstrated experience with large longitudinal databases, quantitative methods and analyses for longitudinal data (including advanced multivariate modeling) and standard statistical programs (e.g., R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, MPlus).
  *   Experience working with academic research organizations or agencies
  *   Experience providing supervision and leadership to research staff and research assistants
