Annual Salary: $65,033.32- $74,351.64
The Office of the Seniors Advocate serves as an independent voice for seniors, monitoring and advising on a range of seniors’ services in British Columbia. This includes advocating in the interests of seniors and analyzing issues important to the welfare of
seniors generally. The Advocate works collaboratively with seniors and key stakeholders to identify and understand systemic issues and make recommendations to government and those who deliver seniors’ services.
The Manager, Data Research, leads the rigorous collection and use of quantitative and qualitative data to support the planning, managing and conducting of research studies and analyses related to monitoring the provision of seniors’ services. The Manager will
be working with BC ministries, academics, consultants and other jurisdictions as appropriate. The Manager is solely responsible for and will provide expertise in data management and data quality for on-going reports promoting and publicizing the responsiveness
and effectiveness of services and evidence-informed solutions for improving the system.
To be considered for this position your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have the following:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Health Information Science, Business Management, Health Sciences, Statistical Analysis or Mathematics and a minimum of
4 years progressive and recent, related experience*; or
Master’s degree in Health Information Science, Business Management, Health Science, Statistical Analysis or Mathematics and a minimum of 2 years progressive
and recent, related experience*, (Master’s degree preferred).
*Recent (within last 5 years), related experience must include the following:
Experience in data analysis, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and providing advice and recommendations; health sector preferred.
Practical research experience gathering, synthesizing, evaluating and interpreting information, preferably in a health or social science setting.
Experience with analytical and extraction software (e.g. SAS, SQL, MicroStrategy, Oracle)
Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting data analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
Several years’ experience of progressively responsible and increasing complex work in health data analysis, statistical analysis, and project leadership
Experience in data administration and data warehousing.
