organization, currently seeking a Data Analyst.
This position is responsible for compiling, querying, interpreting and analyzing data to align BCSA practices with strategic goals. This position works with internal and external stakeholders to identify and
resolve data issues, optimize models and business processes, and turn data into information that brings insight into business decisions.
Performs data collection, analysis and interpretation using appropriate statistical techniques such as machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, data mining, sampling methods and segmentation
Compiles technical reports that outline sound scientific methodologies designed for a broad audience including external and internal stakeholders and communication on analysis and interpretation.
Creates sample plans for high volume parts of BCSA business, including inspection of installation permits, operating permits, client education.
Identifies, interprets and analyzes trends or patterns in complex data sets to evaluate the impact of BCSA activities on client behavior.
Provides guidance to other parts of the organization concerning data clean- up by reviewing reports, systems and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems. Executes data clean-up
activities as necessary within Research & Analytics.
Recommends ongoing improvements to business practices, methods and algorithms that lead to findings, including new information.
Guides and leads understanding and knowledge both from IT and the business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results.
Identifies and analyzes patterns in the volume of data supporting the initiative and the type of data.
Collaborates with cross functional teams, subject matter experts and leadership to prioritize business and information needs.
Presents and depicts rationale of findings for various audiences, including VP Technical Programs, directors, business leaders and safety managers, field service leaders and senior safety officers
and decision makers.
Recommends improvements that streamline and improve efficiency of Research and Analytics team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
MSC in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Management.
3-5 years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics work experience in non-academic environments
Technical expertise on machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, data mining, sampling methods and segmentation techniques.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (R, SAS, Shiny etc.).
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong programming skills and understanding database structures (ORACLE).
Strong understanding of data management principles.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and relationship development skills required.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
Knowledge of one or more business/functional areas.
Ability to devise up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging
Pattern detection over potentially large datasets
Demonstrates clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, significance, and fairness.
Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
