Dalhousie University invites applicants for a probationary Instructor position from outstanding candidates with a strong interest in undergraduate education in Mathematics and Statistics.

The candidates should have demonstrated interest and ability in undergraduate education in Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics; a PhD degree (completed or in progress) will be considered an asset. The candidate should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated innovation in teaching, experience with electronic teaching resources, and the ability and interest to teach a variety of courses will be an asset.

The Instructor will be expected to fulfill the following duties:

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science. The department has a strong undergraduate Honours program, and a vibrant graduate program and research environment. In recent years, the department has welcomed an increase in foreign student enrolment, and this trend is expected to continue. The department is dedicated to teaching excellence and student success.

The start date for the position is July 1, 2017.

Consideration of candidates will begin on May 15, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled.
