We solicit applications for several postdoctoral fellow positions in data science, across the fields of Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Vision, or related areas. The positions are part of a new center for data science at Cornell University, with focus on Data Science for Improved Decision-Making.

Applicants should have finished a PhD in Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics or a related field, and ideally have extensive experience in either machine learning, statistical learning, or computer vision.

The appointments are renewable 1-3 years postdoctoral fellowships, and the salary will depend on the experience and research interests of the candidate. To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by October 31, 2017. Center of Data Science for Improved Decision-Making: We are establishing a Center for Data Science for Improved Decision-Making on Cornell Campus. The emphasis on our research is to investigate research questions with potential for positive social impact. Topics of interest include, algorithmic fairness, privacy, interpretable machine learning, deep learning. Postdoctoral fellows in the newly established centers are expected to collaborate with any of the faculty supervisors associated with the center. These include Kilian Weinberger, Steven Strogatz, Giles Hooker, David Shmoys, Jon Kleinberg, Bala Kavita, Marten Wegkamp , Florentina Bunea, Karthik Sridharan, Robert Kleinberg, Eva Tardos, Thorsten Joachims , Amy Kuceyeski, Martin Wells, Sumanta Basu, Peter Frazier, Yudong Chen, Alex Townsend, Alexander Vladimirsky, Andrew Wilson, Vitaly Shmatikov, Madeleine Udell.
