The Department of Statistical Science at Cornell University invites applications for tenured, tenure-track, and lecturer positions. Information about the Department of Statistical Science appears at http://stat.cornell.edu/

Cornell University is located in Ithaca, New York, a city of about 30,000 people in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Both Cornell and Ithaca offer a wide range of cultural activities, sports, and outdoor activities with the pleasures of both city and country close at hand. Ithaca is Gorges!

We seek individuals with strong foundations and research interests in statistical theory, statistical computing, data science and/or applications to social science methodology. Tenured and tenure-track faculty must hold the equivalent of a Ph.D. in statistics or related mathematical science. Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to conduct outstanding research. Successful candidates are expected to pursue an active research program, to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and to supervise graduate students. Candidates for the lecturer position should hold a PhD and have demonstrated excellence in teaching statistics at the introductory level. Candidates holding a Masters who have shown exceptional teaching ability will also be considered.

To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by November 20, 2017, but will be accepted until all positions are filled.

Applicants for Assistant Professor must submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a list of publications, a statement of research interests and a statement of teaching experience and arrange for at least three letters of reference to be submitted electronically. Up to three relevant research publications may also be submitted.

Applicants for Associate and Full Professor positions must possess the potential for leadership in the core research and teaching missions of the Department. Candidates for senior positions should submit a cover letter that clearly highlights your three most important research publications, a curriculum vitae that includes a full list of publications and current and past sponsored project activity, and the names of at least three or more individuals who may be contacted for references. Applicants for Lecturer position should submit a CV, a teaching statement including evidence of their teaching abilities and arrange for three letters of reference directed towards their teaching performance to be submitted electronically.
