Ate O'Clock
Ate O'Clock is a
Application Concept
MOMO is a mechanical pet designed to encourage sustainable living through creating a bond with the user. This is achieved through the communication of emotions and actions to relay information on light usage within the household or specific room MOMO is placed in.
Who & Why
One of the issues we found that has prevented such a application from appearing more widespread has been how do we present a way to users that simplifies the inventory control process and helps create a desirable application. So this was our main design challenge. The target audience for Ate O’Clock was young adults who support themselves.
How
To address the primary design challenge we set out on ourselves we looked to develop a efficient method that allows for seamless addition of items. Reducingthe process to three fields; Name, Quantity and expiry date. Much of which can potentially be added through voice recognition or OCR scanning such as name and quantity which both are commonly found on the same side. Having the user only enter the expiry date manually.
To assist with inventory management we implemented range of features that would make a food management platform more attractive to use and adopt into your daily life. One of the primary features that enhances the experience is the home screen layout. Providing you with real time update on what you have and what is about to expire and how you can potentially use that in future recipes.
Personal Contribution
For Self Made I was the user experience specialist and technologists as well as one of the team leads. Ensuring our team of five students were constantly on track with what was needed and team resources were thoughtfully distributed where it fit best. I was also responsible for developing the overall core user flow wire framing the screen layout and ideal visuals and assisting the primary Visual Designers in bringing to life. Once our visual designers completed high fidelity mockups I bought it into Axure to develop the working prototype.
