TA Information and Office Hours

But first, some advice, some pleas, and some more advice and cautions. The two best times to ask your TA questions are in tutorial and in office hours. These venues should be your first choices. Make use of these opportunities.

I provide email addresses, but please use email judiciously. If you are just seeking an administrative detail about this course, please be sure you have searched the course website first. If you have a more substantive question, please be sure you say something about what you think the answer is, so that your TA can efficiently and effectively offer some guidance. However, also be prepared to hear that your question needs in-person consultation. Email is not an efficient venue for nuanced or detailed philosophical discussions, so do not expect it to replace face-to-face conversation in office hours or tutorial. Also, be aware that your TA is not checking email every moment and may not respond for 24-48 hours during the week or at all over the weekend.

Finally, be courteous by providing your name, your student number, and your tutorial section number with any email to your TA. (If you email me, please also include which course you are in.)

By the way, you may attend the office hours of any of our TAs. The only restriction is that if you have a question about the way something was marked, you must take it up with your own TA, as s/he did the marking. (If you still have questions after that, take them up with me.)
