Vancouver is a popular travel destination, so you should make your accommodation plans as soon as possible.  Also, you might want to extend your visit to take in some of the sights.  Information on Vancouver is available here and here.  Some accommodation options are immediately below.

For all these hotels, mention the conference and any codes listed.  (You will likely have to telephone to get the rates.)  Prices are in Canadian dollars, prior to taxes, and subject to availability.  If you are not quoted as good a price, let me know and I’ll see what I can do: jillmc at sfu.ca.  (If you find a better rate, let me know that, too!)

Delta Suites: Right across the street from Harbour Centre.  An excellent hotel, and these are very good rates.  Each price is for single/double.  Add $20 per extra person.  Code: SFU- WCPA Conference.

$159 Delta Suite

$174 Premier Suite

$189 Deluxe Suite

$214 Signature Club Suite

Fairmont Waterfront: 5-block walk, spectacularly good rate: $80 single/double.  They set this price for only a small block of rooms, and only until 31 August (plus the standard subject to availability, which could easily be a problem).  Code: CF050.

Howard Johnson: 15-20 minute walk, excellent rate: $65 single/double.  Code: 400.

Metropolitan: 5 minute walk, luxury four-star hotel at a very good rate: $170 single/double.  Code: SFU.

Ramada Downtown: Very close-by, best rates if you’re sharing with more than one other person.  (Good rates anyhow!)  Price guaranteed until 13 September (subject to availability). Code: 1359 SFU-WCPA.

$79 single/double

$94 triple

$109 quad

St. Regis Hotel: Very close-by, recently renovated: $95/room.
