| MISCELLANEOUS RESEARCH ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I helped in bringing down stakes (the red upright sticks in the photos) on Glaciar Lengua at Gran Campo Nevado. ![]() I assisted installing three automated weather stations on the eastside of Gran Campo Nevado. The one on Glaciar Lengua (photo on left) was running only for a few monhts, while the others are recording data for more than four years now. Tough work to get all the equipment to the sites though, that's for sure (photo on right). And I can't even count how often I was assistant in coring lakes and peats. Both at Gran Campo Nevado and the southern Coast Mountains. Tough work. I could tell you stories of carrying heavy equipment, or standing in calves high water on top of the ice surface in winter and numbing my toes. Good stuff. I was able to do tons of varied field assistance at Gran Campo Nevado. Not included here is helping to map geology, geomorpholgy, and vegetation.
