CNN's Double Bills: Bill Hemmer and Bill Schneider in Newsweek
01.14.2001
I was perusing some the most current editions of Newsweek, and to my surprise I discovered that Bill Hemmer and Bill Schneider were mentioned in a couple of issues. As a huge CNN fan, this was pretty neat, and I would like to share what Newsweek had said.
CNN's 'Chad Lad'
Talk about dimples. Even as America's eyes have glazed over from round-the-clock coverage to the nonelection, CNN's youthful Bill Hemmer has kept his attitude sunny and emerged as the news hunk everyone's noticed. But there's a price for fame for the Ohio native, who has anchored "CNN Morning News" since 1996. "I came to Tallahassee on Nov. 8," he says. "I turned 36 in Tallahassee on Nov. 14. And I had Thanksgiving dinner in Tallahassee." Gonna spend Christmas there? "I hope not!"

"I said, 'I've always liked [CNN analyst Bill] Schneider, and you wouldn't even let me listen to the s.o.b.'" Former president George Bush, to his wife, Barbara, who dislikes Schneider's political commentary. The elder Bush regretted missing Schneider's declaring George W the president on election night.
