Chatterbox

Overview

Chatterbox is a research robot for the Autonomy Lab. It is based on the iRobot Create platform. For multi-robot research, 30 chatterbox robots were build. The core of each robot is a custom build controller board. This board features:

Gumstix, a 400 MHz ARM computer running Linux
Audio input and output
Wireless ethernet
6 IR distance sensors
5 RGB colour leds
ambient light sensor

A software interface is provided via our open-source library RAPI.
