Ronaldinho, also know as Ronaldo de Assis Moreira is probably the most famous soccer player on earth today. The name Ronaldinho means little Ronaldo in Portuguese. His national team teammate Luiz Ronaldo was one of the biggest soccer star in the late 1990’s. At the age of 20, lots of people has already put the name Ronaldo and Ronaldinho together and compare the two of them. There is no doubt that he is the quickest and most skillful midfielder in the game.
Ronaldinho began his career in Brazilian team called Grêmio Football Porto. It did not take him too long to get the attention of the European teams to request for the service of him. He joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2001 and the head coach of Brazilian national team began to call him up for the appearance for international football. Even though he has not won too many medals and trophies when he was in Paris, he has been voted as the Most Valuable Player every year.
In 2003 summer, FC Barcelona beat Manchester United and successfully signed him from Paris Saint-Germain. It took him no time to prove his worth as he scored 22 goals in the first season and helped Barcelona to secure send place in La Liga. In the 2004/05 campaign, he continued to shine and guided Barcelona to the first league title in 6 years. He has been voted as the FIFA World Player of the Year twice in a row in 2004 and 2005. He has also become the European Footballer of the year in 2005.
