1.short story title: <The Black Cat> by Edgar Allan Poe

In this assignment, I will be cooperating with my partner Simon Wang

2.characters&objects:

- The main character in this story will be the black cat that is kept by a couple who do not have any supersticious believes, the cat is the dominant subject of this story hence it should be listed on top of the hirarchy list.

- The second character who is sub-dominant is the insane man who killed the black cat.Due to his violent behaviours, the story can be developed through his interaction with his cat

- The critical object throughout the scenarios that we chose is the murder tool that the man used to kill the cat, a knife. This is considered third important because it is an object used by the man, hence the plot afterwards can be developed, which is about the killing.

- Lastly,we decide the fire to be the least important object of our whole scenarios since it is in the closure of scenes, and the man's house burned on fire can represent the outcome of the man's violence.

3.Scenes: The whole story takes place in the man's house except for the last scene where he watches his house burning down outside his house. For the mood of this story, we intend to create a sense of horror. And the scenes have characteristics such as quite and dark to emphasize the mood of the character.

4.Actons: First of all, the story will start wth the scene where the black cat shows up to the audience, to give the audience a hint that it is the dominant subject of the story and it is kept by human.

There will be actions included in the scenarios that we chose such as the man drinking his beers to convey the ideas that he is a downer and he is bad tempered. Also, there will be actions of the man taking his knife, walking toward the cat,and then start his violent killing.

After that, the man's house burned on fire,so there are actions such him kneeling in front of his house and crying desperately. Therefore, the story will end with the scenario where the man is outside crying for his burning house.
