You can, however, open Firefox manually and go to file:///ensc/apps/riverbed/18.5/doc/modeler/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#tab=contents This will open the documentation. When I try to use those features in riverbed modeler I get the following errors: XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib64/firefox/libxul.so: /ensc/apps/riverbed/18.0/sys/pc_intel_linux64/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /usr/lib64/firefox/libxul.so) Couldn't load XPCOM. This is for server ensc-watt.ensc.sfu.ca This issues arises when I SSH from my home computer. Current and only workaround is to work in the lab, however ENSC grads are allowed to work remotely. -- ----------- Ron Doria 778-782-3319 Network Services ****************************************************************************** From: "Umme Zakia" To: "zhidal" , otambouz@sfu.ca Sent: Thursday, 26 January, 2017 08:57:06 Subject: ns2 in ubuntu virtual box Hello Zhida, Yesterday some of us from ENSC 894 asked about ns2 installation. I would like to share how I did it on my machine [windows 10], you may distribute this to others. This is the steps that I followed: 1. install virtual box from Oracle. 2. download ubuntu for installation 3. change the settings of including the new virtual machine for ubuntu. make sure that the storage path includes the downloaded ubuntu. 4. run the ubuntu vm. 5. open terminal and run the following commands: * sudo apt-get install ns * sudo apt-get install nam * sudo apt-get install xgraph 6. download the example1b.tcl from the ns2 tutorial site 7. in terminal, change directory to Downloads and run the first example [if you want to run from other place, copy the file there and change directory] * cd Downloads * ns exapmle1b.tcl 8. it will open the nam and you can run the file here.
