VirtualClock vs. Priority Queuing
Q2 has the highest priority:
- PQ assigns total bandwidth to Q2 and all traffic received in the queue is serviced.
- VC regulates the outgoing traffic with the a constant rate equal to expected packet rate.
Q1 has the medium priority:
- PQ assigns to Q1 the remainder of the bandwidth not used by Q2.
Q0 has the lowest priority:
- PQ assigns the remaining bandwidth to queue Q0.
- VC still transmits with queue’s expected packet rate.
