Maki Description: The topics covered will include hypothesis testing, regression and correlation analysis, multiple regression, time series and index numbers. Required Texts: Paul Newbold, Statistics for Business and Economics, 4th Ed., Prentice-Hall, 1995. Michael Middleton, Data Analysis Using Microsoft Excel, latest edition, Duxbury. Grading: If the final examination grade is better than the midterm grade (relative to the mean), the midterm grade will be ignored and the final will count for the total exam grade. Course Requirements: Problem sets will be assigned every week. Textbook questions should be worked with calculators (good preparation for exams) and the answers checked with the EXCEL computer program.
