The topics covered in this course will include tests of
hypotheses, tests
using the chi-square distribution, regression and
correlation, multiple
regression, time series analysis and index number
construction
(like the CPI).

Data
- Cross-country data for economic growth and its determinants. Data are from Mankiw, Romer and Weil, QJE, 1992. Data for 104 countries on eight variables (in order): GRTH = log of change in income 1960-85 (dependent variable), Y60 = log of income in 1960, INV = average investment to GNP ratio over 1960-85, POP = measure of population growth in logarithms, SCHOOL = measure of percentage population in school, DN = dummy for non-oil, DI = dummy for industrialised, DOECD = dummy for OECD; are available in a text file called: growth.txt )
