Majid Bagheri is an Iranian film and video artist who is interested in fiction, documentary, and experimental video. Recently he directed Weaving Together, a documentary film that investigates the hopes and challenges faced by the Yong ethnic minority in Northern Thailand. The film was made upon request and for the community though the SAC Anthropology centre in Bangkok. In late 2010, he collaborated with the Vancouver-based independent choreographer Anna Kraulis to create a dance film, Twixt, which exhibited in Interplay Projects at the MAAC Studio Theatre, Vancouver, Canada from June 2 to June 4, 2011. Majid is also interested in video art. His video installation, in:between (2010), won the third prize at the Surrey Arts Centre and was juried to be part of the art exhibition at the International Digital Media Arts Association (iDMAa 2010) conference. He holds a master's degree in film and video art from Simon Fraser University, Canada.
