Homework
There will be a total of five homework assignments. The best four of these are given equal weight and account for 20% of your final grade. See the grading policy for a description of the weight given to the midterm and final.
The tentative dates associated with each homework are as follows:
| Number | Date Assigned | Date Due |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sep. 12 | Sep. 26 |
| 2 | Sep. 26 | Oct. 12 |
| 3 | Oct. 12 | Oct. 24 |
| 4 | Oct. 31 | Nov. 14 |
| 5 | Nov. 14 | Nov. 28 |
Homework is supposed to be cooperative and most will be done collectively in home-groups. You should try as many exercises as you can, but it does not help to get stuck on a problem. If you get stuck, share your ideas about it with your home-group members. If your group as a whole is stuck, post a question to the class caucus. I will always answer questions I see on the caucus, as long as you show you have thought about it.
