Oral
Presentation
20%
The
oral component of the course includes reading preparation, attendance,
contributions to seminar discussion and a presentation.
There will be occasional in-class writing or group discussion exercises. For
oral presentations you will be expected to research your topic and provide the
class with a one-page typed outline.
Presentations should make critical use of two library sources;
sources consulted during research must be documented and included in the
outline.
Aim–to
stimulate discussion by focussing class attention on an important theme or
aspect of the text and by analyzing the topic in terms of the technocultural
focus of the course. You should
strive for the following:
Some
presentations will necessitate use of the web.
But many will not. Should
your presentation incorporate web resources, these must also be documented on
your outline and submitted to me in advance.
Web resources will be added, in advance to your presentation, to our
class web site. |
