Introduction
ENSC201 is a course offered by the Engineering Science (ENSC) dept of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.


The course is intended to introduce undergrad engineering students to the world of business, especially high technology business. A wide variety of topics are discussed covering finance, marketing, planning, management, taxation, basic micro and macro economics concepts, etc. Students will "invent" a product and prepare a business plan to form a company to commercialize their invention. The course will require students to do a great deal of independent reading (e.g. Globe and Mail, Financial Post, Business in Vancouver and various web sites), ask many questions and explore on their own.

This course is delivered in class with on-line supplementary access via the internet.

Prerequisites: 

Successful completion of at least 45 credit hours is required for students wishing to take this course.

Students with credit for either ENSC 300-3 of ENSC 301-3 cannot take this course for further credit.
