Dear Mr. Robertson,
There sure has been a lot of action-packed news recently. Events in the Soviet Union, civil war in Yugoslavia and labour strife at home have kept the media hopping - you bet! Your professionalism and even-toned reading of the news really helps to put things into perspective. I watch quite a bit of news programming but when the big stories break I need someone I can trust, and that's you!
Mr. Roberston, yours is a job filled with great public responsibility. Your years of experience are obvious and have given you what it take to bring this mighty nation up to the minute reports. What an interesting career you've had! What would you say was your most exciting assignment? I like the way you've covered the various Royal Visits over the years. Your respect and admiration for the monarchy always shines through.
As you can tell by now I'm a big fan. Could you please send me an autographed publicity photo of yourself? I would really appreciate it. You must be the most popular newscaster in Canada, you're certainly the best. Any plans to go into politics? You'd get my support 100% - count on it!
