Funding Opportunity: Knowledge Synthesis Grants competition in the area of emerging technologies

The Office of Research Services has received the following funding opportunity which we are forwarding to our e-mail list members:

Knowledge Synthesis Grants

Overview of the Grant: SSHRC would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the launch of a Knowledge Synthesis Grants competition linked to the Imagining Canada’s Future initiative, focusing on one of the six future challenge areas.
In this competition, proposals are sought that address the challenge area of: How can emerging technologies be leveraged to benefit Canadians?
These grants are not intended to support original research, rather they are intended to support the synthesis of existing research knowledge on the topic and the identification of knowledge gaps.

1.  SFU's Internal Deadline:  Tuesday January 5, 2016 (ORS' 
receipt of SFU Signature Sheet/s + penultimate copy of the grant
(co-PIs from a DIFFERENT faculty/
department/school must submit a separate SFU Signature Sheet) + SFU's
Institutional Sign-off Page for SSHRC (see Note below)
applications that have 
SFU co-applicants ("co-PIs"), applying from the same department on the

3.  Results Announced: Sometime in March 2016

Knowledge Synthesis Grants 
Note: Required, as part of the application package, is a separate page, SFU's Institutional Sign-off Page for SSHRCm (Word and PDF documents are attached to this e-mail) containing the signature of an authorized signatory from the applicant’s institution, certifying that the institution will administer any award in accordance with SSHRC policies.  Please send this form to ors@sfu.ca, along with the fully signed SFU signature sheet and penultimate copy of the grant.
